Steve Martodam is the President and COO of Brandt Hospitality Group, a Fargo based development and operating company that builds hotels across the US.
Steve grew up in Hawley, MN and worked in his family’s John Deere dealership before attending NDSU. While in college he stumbled upon the idea of hotel
management, where internships led to jobs, that led to a career.
After NDSU, Steve managed hotels for a small developer before joining Gary Tharaldson’s organization in 1997. In his 20 years at Tharaldson/TMI Hospitality,
he grew his managed portfolio from one hotel to over one hundred hotels, leaving his position as SVP of Operations to launch Brandt Hospitality Group in late 2017.
Today, BHG operates 16 hotels in 11 states, with 3 to 5 construction projects underway at all times and a dozen more in the pipeline. As owner/operators,
their vertical integration gives them control of market and site selection, design and construction of the hotels, and all aspects of hotel operations.
Steve tries to always live by BHG’s culture statement of “Driving Growth through Inspired Service.”
