Join The Chamber and Women Connect in celebrating its sixth anniversary at this special event! Delivering this year's keynote message is Marissa Orr, author of the Amazon best-seller "Lean Out: The Truth About Women, Power and the Workplace."

About Orr
Marissa Orr is a former Google and Facebook executive, bestselling author and leadership speaker. Spending 15 years working at today's top tech giants, she has conducted talks for thousands of people in the U.S., Europe and Asia-Pacific. Her debut book, Lean Out, The Truth About Women, Power, & the Workplace, was released by Harper Collins Leadership in June 2019.

Featured in Forbes, Fox, Yahoo! Finance and CNBC, Lean Out is not simply a retort to Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In, but a revolutionary path forward with the power to change the lives of men and women in the corporate world and beyond. With her unique insight, Orr brings an entirely new and fresh perspective on diversity and female leadership. Blending humor and irreverence with deeply researched points of view, she is mercilessly on point and quickly endears herself to any audience.

Every attendee gets a FREE copy of her book!

Why Lean Out?
In Lean Out, Orr offers a compelling answer to the question few dare to ask: What have we gotten wrong about women at work?

Based on in-depth research and personal experiences, Orr shares her journey as a single mom of three trying to find success in her 15-year career at the world's top tech giants. She gives an insider's look at the systemic dysfunction inside today's most progressive organizations, providing a revolutionary new perspective on why there are so few female leaders in corporate America. She doesn't simply present a counterargument to modern feminist rhetoric, but offers a revolutionary path forward to change the trajectory of the lives of women and men in the corporate world and beyond.

What have others said about seeing Marissa live?
"With humor and grace, she challenged us to look at things from a wholly new and useful perspective; one which we?d not heard before, and one we've been talking about ever since." - David Mishkin MD, FACEP, Chief Innovation Officer, Sheridan Health

Charity of the month: BIO Girls.
Please consider bringing rolls of Scotch tape, gallon-sized Ziploc bags, or paper towels to donate to them. These items will be used to help benefit the organization's work and mission and will be used at their individual sites.

The BIO Girls mission is to improve the self-esteem of adolescent girls through empowerment of self and service to others. It's a 12-week program that combines life-skills lessons, small group mentoring and physical activity in a positive, inclusive environment. They're showing girls ages 7-12 how to build self-worth based on their values, talents, philanthropy and individuality, so they can confidently stand up to social pressures.
