Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani will bring his expertise and insights to the metro for our sixth annual Voices of Vision. His presentation, titled “Principled Leadership: In the Face of Change and Crisis” will focus on lessons learned as he revitalized New York City and pulled through the crisis of 9/11. Giuliani will share how effective leadership can result in profitability and how to use these principles in your own life to inspire excellence from the team around you.
While Giuliani is most known for his service as mayor of New York City, he previously served in the United States Attorney’s office, then as Associate Attorney General, and in 1993, was elected mayor. In these years, he focused on reducing crime, reforming welfare and improving the quality of life. On September 11 when the Twin Towers fell, Giuliani immediately lead the recovery of the city and was even celebrated as “Mayor of the World.” He was named “Person of the Year” by TIME magazine, knighted by the Queen of England, dubbed “Rudy the Rock” by French President Jacques Chirac, and former first lady Nancy Reagan presented him with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award.
Voices of Vision is an annual event designed to bring nationally recognized, world-thought visionaries to the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo area. Hosting these types of well-known speakers not only gives the community the opportunity to hear and see a variety of public figures, but also gives visibility to our region and showcases our metro area.
