Description

Join us for "Emancipation Echoes: A Journey Through Juneteenth with Gabrielle Clavo," where we delve into the profound historical significance of June 19th, 1865, through the expert insights of Gabrielle Clavo. Gabrielle has cultivated a deep understanding of global cultures through her extensive travels from a young age, shaping her into the accomplished public historian she is today.

Currently serving as the Communications and Marketing Manager for the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, Gabrielle is a dedicated advocate for preserving and sharing cultural heritage. She holds a degree in Public History from North Dakota State University and is pursuing her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction-Learning Technologies at the University of Minnesota.

Gabrielle's scholarly pursuits include leading the Virtual Blockson project with Temple University, designed to enhance access to archival materials in Philadelphia Public Schools. Her impact extends locally with her design of the Felix Battles Text Panels soon to be unveiled at Minnesota State University of Moorhead.

In this enlightening session, Gabrielle will explore the significance of Juneteenth to the African American community and its broader implications for our nation's history. Her unique perspective and dedication to education promise to enrich our understanding of Juneteenth's enduring legacy.
