Description

Not long ago, our access to goods was determined by the stores, vendors and options that existed in our communities. If consumers couldn’t find what they were looking for, they chose a suitable second option. If there was a major sale on their favorite product, they waited in line outside. Today, the number and variety of goods that exist in the world of online shopping are seemingly endless. Where does it all come from? How will workforce and supply shortages impact the benefits of online shopping? FMWF leaders in both traditional and eCommerce arenas will discuss shared challenges, the shift in consumer habits, what the future of commerce will look like for businesses, and what factors will determine which businesses and industries will fail or succeed as we continue on this path.

Alissa Adams
Alissa Adams serves as the Chief Operating Officer at West Acres Development in Fargo, ND. In her role, Alissa is directly involved in strategy and development, leasing, marketing, general operations and community engagement. She is in her 13th year of service, of which she worked 7 years remotely while living in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Phoenix, Arizona. In 2020, Alissa and her husband Nick, both North Dakota natives, were drawn back to the Fargo area along with their two daughters for its quality of life and business and entrepreneurial-friendly environment. Outside of her role at West Acres, Alissa also works alongside her husband at their company, the Center for Plastic Surgery, where she serves as the Chief Strategy Officer. She and her family enjoy traveling, cooking, embracing the elements of all North Dakota seasons with outdoor activities, and taking in community events.

Brad Duerr
Brad Duerr is the E-Commerce Leader for SCHEELS with over 20 years in the tech/business industry. He has spent the last 10 years at SCHEELS, first starting out in their IT department as a software developer and now the last 6 years working as the E-Commerce Leader. Over the last 6 years, he has worked alongside a very talented team to improve all aspects of SCHEELS.com with a focus on developing an omnichannel experience for all SCHEELS customers. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from MSUM and credits a lot of his success to his time as a student-athlete at MSUM.

Ethan Flack
Ethan Flack joined Amazon in June 2020 when he began working at MDW6, a Fulfillment Center located in the Chicago-land area. Working as an Outbound Area Manager, he supported the site as it increased its customer shipment volume to support greater demand as a result of changes in consumer behavior during the early months of the pandemic. In October of that year, he transitioned into a role where he built and launched one of the first Customer Returns departments located in an Amazon Fulfillment Center that also processed customer shipments. Following the launch of this department, he supported the launch of 7 additional collocated Customer Returns departments across the United States Non-Sort (USNS) network and acted as a support partner for sites experiencing Reverse Logistics challenges.

In the summer of 2022, Ethan transitioned to the FAR1 team to help launch the facility, functioning as the Senior Operations Manager for Inbound, where he manages the Inbound, Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA), and training departments.

Dani Gilseth
Dani is a North Dakota-born Wife, Mom and Business Owner. She calls West Fargo home with her husband Tristan and their three kids, Cash (2007), Keeley (2009), and Bode (2015). Dani discovered her (unexpected) dream job in 2018 when she founded and opened Grateful Cratefulls with her Mom and Aunt. What started as a 500-square-foot exclusive retail location has grown into a nearly 2000 sq foot retail and fulfillment center with complete E-commerce and Business Gifting Services. Grateful Cratefulls have been shipped to every state in the US along with Canada, Bermuda, Kuwait, Mexico and Denmark with incoming orders from across the US, South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Sweden, Ireland, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic!
Fun-Loving and Positive are two words she uses to describe herself. Whether it’s traveling, watching her kids sports activities or enjoying weekends at the Lake in the summer, being surrounded by Family, Friends and Fun fills her bucket.
