So often we think that in order to be a leader, we must have a certain title, “this many” years of experience, or a particular level of knowledge. How often does this belief stop you from speaking up, sharing ideas, politely pushing back, or asserting yourself day-to-day?

Leadership is not a position, it’s a mindset – and the mindset of leadership can be adopted by anyone regardless of position, tenure or expertise. At this session, attendees will learn how to assert their own leadership within their current position, and walk away with practical tips on how to lead up, down and across their organization.

About the presenter
Amanda Brannan is a Learning and Talent Management Specialist at WEX, Inc. In this position, she gets to spend her days sharing her passion for lifelong learning with more than 5,000 employees worldwide. Her main areas of focus include enabling employees to drive their personal career development, empowering leaders of all levels with the skills and resources they need to succeed, helping employees open doors for themselves through continual learning, and facilitating team and leadership effectiveness company-wide through an array of interactive learning solutions.

Amanda received her master's degree in organizational communication with an emphasis on the employee-leader relationship from North Dakota State University. While she was in graduate school, she co-created and co-facilitated the leadership training for students across campus. She is certified to deliver the SLII ® Experience from Ken Blanchard Companies, and loves presenting new ideas and tools to people encountering struggles in the workplace.

Outside of work, Amanda loves reading, baking, secretly indulging in reality TV, and spending time outside with her husband, Jacob, and German Shorthaired Pointer, Nilla - camping, hiking, time at the lake, or just hanging out in the backyard. Amanda and her husband are looking forward to welcoming their first child this July!
